Crafting it demands exceptional skill—if the proportions of the rounded shoulders and tapered belly are off, the foot, spout, and handle will all be affected, instantly altering its entire style.

The Xiaoying Teapot was invented during the Ming Dynasty. Its sturdy and solid form embodies an unyielding, almost heroic character. Connoisseurs passionately describe its tea-brewing qualities: beneath its cool exterior lies a fiery heart, brewing tea with bold enthusiasm—rich, robust, and full of depth, sweet and warm in aroma, decisive and vibrant. It is said that the Xiaoying Teapot’s design originates from the historical tale, 'A single laugh from Yingning dissolves a thousand sorrows.' The harmonious yet dynamic interplay of its flowing glazes resembles 'Yingning’s smile,' embodying the traditional Confucian ideal of 'harmony in diversity'—a reflection of the spirit where noble minds seek unity without uniformity.'"
