The name of this Yixing teapot is De Zhong,featuring a classic and minimalist design. It is a fully handcrafted work by artisan Li Jianming 李建明, with a capacity of 135 ml, making it very suitable for gongfu tea for one to two people.
The raw material of this teapot is authentic Yixing zisha dicaoqing, sourced from the No. 4 Well of Huanglong Mountain in Yixing. The ore was mined in 1993 and processed into zisha clay in 1994, after which it has been stored and aged in 窖藏 (warehouse storage) ever since. The high-quality raw material and excellent clay-refining techniques endow it with outstanding performance. (Click here to learn about the process from raw ore to zisha clay.)
Li Jianming 李建明 was born in 1970 into a zisha family in Dingshu Town, Yixing, Jiangsu. In 1988, he joined the Research Institute of Jiangsu Yixing Zisha Craft Factory 江苏省宜兴紫砂工艺厂研究所, where he studied under Zhou Zunyan 周尊严, a Master of Chinese Arts and Crafts. In 2015, his work Zhongqi 重器 (Grand Vessel) won the Silver Award at the China Ceramic Art Exhibition 中国陶瓷艺术大展银奖. （more info about Li Jianming）
This teapot has a rather elegant form 形体. You can see that its overall structure, the spout, handle, body, lid, and knob, are all proportioned harmoniously, offering a visually pleasing appearance.

This is a beautifully crafted teapot. It is super light and thin walled, yet stable and secure. It is the only luni teapot I own and the only half handmade luni pot that I have ever seen and, as such, is available at an incredible price. The clay crystals have an amazing look to them. The design and size at 90ml is perfect for solo gonfu and the pour is just right. If your passion is collecting and using special zisha clay pots, this one really can't be passed up.

The craftsmanship is impeimpeccable (thin walls, tight lid fit, superb water flow, high pitch "cling" sound,. . ) and the clay quality is amazing!
I use it for floral oolongs(dancong, wuyi, bāozhòng, tie guan yin) floral black teas (Keemun, usmoked lapsang), but also for more floral and fruity Sheng Pu Erhs (Gua Feng Zhai, Yiwu, Jingmai, Bangdong,. . ) and it brews all of them to perfection (aroma & mouth feel).
