Tang Boqin (唐伯琴)was born into a Zisha family in Shushan Ancient Street, Yixing. Her father, Tang Zhuhe, served as the first head of the Production Technology Section at Yixing Zisha Craft Factory and was the founder of Yixing Zisha Craft Factory No. 2. Her uncle, Tang Fengzhi, was a renowned Zisha artist who achieved remarkable success during the Republic of China period, with many of his works gaining popularity both domestically and internationally.

Tang Boqin began learning pottery making under her father’s guidance from an early age. After graduating from high school in 1978, she officially began her career in pottery making. Over the years, she has accumulated extensive experience, developing the essential qualities of an outstanding Zisha artist. Her works faithfully inherit the intrinsic craftsmanship of the Tang family tradition, characterized by meticulous workmanship, smooth lines, and well-defined contours, while also embracing the spirit of the times through rich imagination and distinctive craftsmanship. She has further mastered the delicate bamboo-woven decorative techniques of Zisha and has innovated many Zisha works with her unique personal style.

Selected Achievements:

1996: Works collected by the Pottery and Heaven journal in Taiwan.

June 2000: Zisha Bamboo-Woven Vase selected by the Yixing Municipal Government as a gift for foreign dignitaries visiting Yixing.

2001: Listed in the "Zisha Artists" section of the Yixing Municipal Yearbook.

October 2002: Jade Spring Vase selected for the 7th National Ceramic Art Innovation Design Competition.

April 2003: Joy Pot won Silver Award at the Shanghai International Tea Culture Festival and China Famous Tea & Pot Competition.

April 2003: Zisha Bamboo-Woven Pot won Gold Award at the 2nd China Top Ten Famous Pots Competition organized by China Collectors Magazine and the China Museum Association.

2004: Fisherman Pot won the Excellence Award at the Yixing Ceramic Association Competition.

2004: Mythical Beast Pot won Gold Award at the 2nd China Wuxi Taihu Expo "China Arts and Crafts Excellence Exhibition."

November 2005: Eight-Faceted Majesty won the Gold Award at the 7th China (National) Arts and Crafts Master Expo organized by the China Light Industry Federation.

2005: Fisherman Pot selected as a national gift by the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council and presented to Lien Chan, then Chairman of the Kuomintang.

August 2006: Bamboo Circle Pot won Gold Award at the (China) Western International Arts & Crafts Gift Expo.

September 2006: Bo Garden Pot won the Gold Award at the "First Qinhuangdao China Yixing Zisha Works" Exhibition.

November 2006: Qin Fei Feng Wu won the Gold Award at the 8th China (National) Arts and Crafts Master Expo organized by the China Light Industry Federation.

May 2008: Great Fortune won the Special Gold Award at the 4th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Expo organized by the Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Culture, and Guangdong Provincial Government.

2012: Fortune at the Helm won the Gold Award in the "China Arts and Crafts Cultural Creativity Award" at the China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Expo.

2013: Bee Chrysanthemum Pot invited for exhibition at the Taipei Palace Museum; published many papers in professional journals and successfully applied for dozens of Zisha-related patents.

2014: Wind-Rolled Sunflower won the "China Arts and Crafts Innovation Art Gold Award" at the 16th China (National) Arts and Crafts Master Expo.

2015: Wave-Chasing Bamboo-Woven Teapot with Handle won Excellence Award in the Senior Professional Category at the 8th China International Ceramic Culture and Art Festival "Jingzhou Cup" Pot Competition (organized by Jiangsu Ceramic Industry Association).

2016: Wave-Chasing Pot won the Gold Award at the "Earth Award" organized by the China Light Industry Association and China Ceramic Industry Association; also received the title of Jiangsu Provincial Ceramic Art Celebrity.

2016: National Glory Pot won the Gold Award at the 9th "China Ceramic Award" Qihe Cup China Ceramic Product Design Competition.

2017: Eight Directions Blessing won the Gold Award at the 7th "Earth Award" Ceramic Works Competition.

2020: Celestial Zen Sound won the Gold Award at the "Dingcheng Cup" organized by the China Arts and Crafts Association.

2020: Stars won the Gold Award at the "Yibo Cup" organized by the Jiangsu Arts and Crafts Association.
