The elegant art of purple clay pottery influenced his childhood. Under his mentor's personal instruction, in clean and clear forms, grandeur and ease become the most textured expressions—as if without any deliberate carving, they already flow like clouds and water, enduring as heaven and earth. He developed refined, proficient, and comprehensive handmade teapot-making skills, expanding the development direction of purple clay art. Sensitive artists all deeply love every artwork they create, never abandoning them, cherishing them doubly, filled with rich affection. It is like finding a soulmate in life—both parties feel they have found a kindred spirit. True artworks all carry a unique "individuality," just like "the one you love among millions." This is the destiny between an artist and their work. Destiny brings understanding; understanding means both sides comprehend each other, achieving spiritual resonance, forming equal taste, and constituting excellence in both. Mountains of the same height meet people of the same height; understanding each other, each understands the other.

In 1962, Shen Yinhua was born in Zisha Village, Yixing. His first teacher was the old artisan Shao Panhong. As a boy, when Shen Yinhua visited the Shao household to play, he saw the old man Shao making flower-ware and was immediately captivated, so he followed Old Shao to learn flower vessel production.
In 1985, Shen Yinhua formally entered the ranks of purple clay design and production and became the first disciple of Jiangsu Provincial Arts and Crafts Master Wu Peilin. Shen Yinhua received his mentor's instruction, learned the Wu school's clay-twisting technique, and also received careful guidance from colleagues Gu Daorong, Wang Sanda, and others. His skill level was continuously tempered and enriched.
Under the guidance of famous teachers, Shen Yinhua's skills are comprehensive. He has mastered the production of plain vessels, flower-shaped vessels, ribbed vessels, and clay-twisting techniques. His works often combine multiple creative methods, inherit tradition, pursue innovation, and are meticulously executed, quickly forming his own unique style.

To further improve his design level, Shen Yinhua decided to deepen his study of theoretical knowledge. In 1993, Shen Yinhua entered the Ceramic Modeling Design Department of the Central Academy of Arts and Crafts (now the Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University) for further study. This period of study increased his knowledge and broadened his horizons. The enrichment of theory enabled Shen Yinhua to apply more fresh and avant-garde concepts to teapot making, creating many works that refreshed people's eyes.
In 2003, Shen Yinhua entered the Jiangsu Province Yixing Purple Clay Craft Factory. Long immersed in the elegant art of purple clay, and with his mentor's personal instruction, he developed a craftsmanship of striving for perfection, proficient and comprehensive handmade teapot-making skills.
Shen Yinhua's teapot art inherits tradition yet is not confined by tradition, possessing distinct individual characteristics. His works are mostly original designs, using rich cultural elements, endowing forms with rich symbolic meanings. The sense of balance between bone and flesh is more even, and the transitions of lines and surfaces everywhere reflect the accumulation of long-term practice, brimming with the vitality of life, full of deep emotion, and giving people the enjoyment of beauty.
Shen Yinhua believes that only those who can both design and produce can be called artists. An artist endows a work with vitality, and only such works can attract the public and enter the vision of collectors. Whether making teapots or appreciating teapots, Shen Yinhua has his own unique insights.
"Autumn Charm Pomegranate" uses a full pomegranate as the teapot shape. The pomegranate seeds that seem about to burst forth, the pomegranate fruits hanging on the branches, the rough branches, and the green leaves materialize autumn. We can almost feel the joy of abundant fruits and harvest.
This is also the characteristic of Shen Yinhua's works: inheriting tradition while pursuing innovation, meticulously executed yet uniquely styled, seeking elegance in small details and finding style in fine points, depicting things in life with an unrestrained yet serious approach. Therefore, the images he creates always present a bright, vibrant, and unrestrained realm.
