Master of Zisha (Purple Clay) Art

Sang Libing (桑黎兵) is a renowned contemporary master of Zisha art, recognized as a Jiangsu Provincial Master of Arts and Crafts and a Senior Craft Artist. He is the founder of his personal art gallery and leads a dedicated studio for the inheritance and innovation of ceramic arts. As an inheritor of Jiangsu's intangible cultural heritage and a celebrated national artisan, he was honored as one of China's "Twelve Elite Zisha Artists" in 2005.

Master Sang has played a significant role in promoting Zisha culture through extensive academic engagement, serving as a visiting professor at several universities and a mentor for advanced studies in Zisha art.

2000-2005: Rising Recognition

2000: Sweet Teapot – Gold Award, 2nd China National Masters Exhibition.

Sang Libing had an artistic exchange with Wu Weishan, Vice Chairman of the China Art Association, at the China Ceramics Museum.

2001: Multiple Gold Awards at National Masters Exhibitions for works like Longevity Wishes Teapot and Instant Success Teapot.

2003: Instant Success – Gold Award at the 1st National Ceramic Art Exhibition. Joyful Fish, Tranquil Heart Teapot entered the permanent collection of the Wuxi Museum.

2005: Pinnacle Achievement – His Squirrel and Grapevine Teapot was selected as a state gift and is permanently collected by the Ziguang Pavilion in Zhongnanhai.

2006-2015: Expanding Influence

2005-2007: Continued streak of Gold and Innovation Gold Awards at the China Shanghai International Arts Festival.

2005: Spring Dawn Teapot became part of the Nanjing Museum's permanent collection.

2014: Received Jiangsu Province's "Spring Blossom" Award for Elegant Breeze Over‑Handle Teapot.

2021-Present: Enduring Legacy & New Honors

2021: Multiple Gold Awards at the 13th Shandong Arts and Crafts Expo.

2023: Moonlight Sonata set won the "Baihe Rising Talent" Award; other works received gold prizes in Shanghai exhibitions.

2024: Continued excellence with a Special Gold Award at the 12th "Dadi Cup" Ceramic Innovation Competition and multiple awards at the Dalian Light Industry Expo.

2025: A landmark honor – His Squirrel and Grapevine Teapot was accepted into the permanent collection of the National Museum of China, cementing its status as a national cultural treasure.
