(Know more about Wei Ren here)
Master artist Wei Ren, when crafting the antique-style Fang Gu Ruyi Teapot, drew upon the classic Fang Gu teapot form, which possesses a leisurely and elegant beauty, and skillfully incorporated Ruyi patterns.

Since ancient times, the Ruyi pattern has embodied the complete aspirations of the Chinese people for a better life, symbolizing good fortune in all matters, warding off evil and inviting blessings, health and longevity, wealth and honor, wisdom and insight, as well as family harmony. The Ruyi pattern has always been beloved by people.

This Fang Gu Ruyi Teapot has a rounded body, with a sense of fullness and emptiness interwoven, giving it a spirited and refined appearance. The Ruyi lines flow like drifting clouds, presenting a streamlined aesthetic.

Artist Wei Ren handcrafted the teapot with meticulous attention to the ultimate beauty of its lines. The concave and convex surfaces of the body shift with the flowing lines, resembling floating clouds and evoking a poetic charm. The spout is graceful yet firm, while the handle rises naturally with a balanced tension, complementing the spout to create a sense of fullness. The Ruyi patterns on the body are fluid, with seamless transitions, exuding a refined and spirited beauty.

She selected the Ren family's collection of aged purple clay (di cao qing) as the raw material for this teapot. This aged purple clay di cao qing was sourced from the No. 4 Well of Mount Huanglong in 1992, and after processing, it is distinguished by its exceptionally high-quality sandy texture.
After firing, the teapot's sandy texture is delicate, and when touched by hand, it feels smooth and warm.
The teapot offers an aesthetic pleasure, while using it for brewing tea provides a wonderfully comfortable experience.
Under a magnifying glass, the high-quality particles of this purple clay di cao qing are visible. Rich in minerals, it helps brew a better tea infusion. Siyutao uses the most ancient method to hand-make purple clay. (Click to know more)
