Yixing Teapot artist Wang Zhigang

Born in Yixing in 1963, Wang Zhigang (王志刚) began his artistic training in 1987 under the guidance of Mr. Han Meilin, specializing in sculpture design and creation. In 1993, he studied under Ms. Wang Yinxian, focusing on purple clay (zisha) ceramic art and design.

His works span a broad range of subjects, each distinguished by a vivid expression and distinctive character. In his realistic pieces, he captures lifelike details with precision; in his more expressive works, he employs bold refinement and imaginative composition to create pieces of varied styles. His art keeps pace with the times, marked by a strong sense of creativity and contemporary spirit.
