Xu Anbi

Born in March 1953 in Yixing, Jiangsu, Xu Anbi furthered his studies at the Jiangsu Ceramic Industrial School and the Central Academy of Craft and Art. Over his 40-year career in ceramic innovation, he has demonstrated remarkable ingenuity and effortless mastery in various decorative techniques such as carving, painting, stacking, filling, and tracing, forming a unique artistic style. His work particularly stands out in exploring the shapes and decorations of purple clay and celadon ware.

His research papers have been published in journals including China Ceramics, Jingdezhen Ceramics, and Jiangsu Ceramics. His works, such as the Yiquan Tea Set, Dragon Chanting Under Heaven Teapot, and Divine Pearl Teapot, are collected by the Palace Museum and the National Museum. His ceramic vase Mountains in Sight, Springs Whispering, was auctioned at a high price for charity at the CCTV studio. Some of his creations have been selected as state gifts and presented worldwide by diplomatic missions, while others have been collected by Chinese state leaders and foreign dignitaries. He has been invited multiple times by the Jiangsu Council for the Promotion of International Trade to conduct artistic exchanges and live demonstrations in North America, Oceania, Europe, and neighboring countries.

His achievements have been featured by numerous media outlets, including CCTV, Jiangsu TV, People's Daily, Guangming Daily, People's Political Consultative News, Yangcheng Evening News, Hong Kong's Wen Wei Po, and Taiwan's World Within a Teapot.
