Graduated from the Fine Arts program at Jiangsu Provincial Light Industry College.
Began his artistic career in the 1990s and studied under Mr. Ni Shunsheng, a Jiangsu Provincial Master of Arts and Crafts and a research‑level senior craft artist.

He is especially known for his plain and unadorned teapot forms, which are rich in connotation and full of verve, establishing a distinctive style of his own.
His teapot works:
Won the Gold Award at the "Duyihu" （独一壶） Purple Sand Fine Art Expo, organized by the Beijing Collectors Association in 2006.
Won the Gold Award at the 15th China National Arts and Crafts Masters Expo, held during the China Shanghai International Arts Festival in 2013, in the selection of outstanding Chinese arts and crafts works.
His teapot Ruhui 儒慧 (Wisdom of the Gentle) won the Gold Award at the 2019 China Ceramic Masters' Works Exhibition, a national‑level competition organized by the China Ceramic Industry Association. The Gold Award represents the highest achievement in ceramic creation.
In 2022, his teapot Fanyu·Fanjin (Sanskrit·Splendor) received a certificate of merit in the Haxuan Cup Ceramic and Purple Sand Creative Craft Competition.
During our visit, Master Qian was in his studio working on his latest teapot creation.
