He Yanping — Chinese National artist of Arts and Crafts 中国国家级工艺美术师
Born in February 1970 in Dingshan, a town renowned for pottery, He Yanping grew up in a ceramic-art family and was immersed from childhood in the artistic philosophy of her father, the celebrated master He Daohong 何道洪 (click to know more). She is the sister of teapot artist He Ye 何叶.

In 1985, she entered the Yixing Zisha Craft Factory, where under her father’s meticulous tutelage, she mastered every stage of the process — from design drawing and clay blending, through fully handmade forming, to kiln firing and final inspection — all executed independently. This marked the true beginning of her journey into the art of Zisha creation. In March 1988, she was selected by the factory to attend advanced studies in “Ceramic Form Design” at the Central Academy of Arts and Crafts in Beijing.

He Yanping 何燕萍 and Master Wei Ren 任伟(click to know more) are very good friends, and the He and Ren families have been closely connected for generations.
