Born in 1965 into a family of potters in Yixing's Shushan, Jiangsu, Zhuang Yulin (庄玉林) embarked on his clay art journey in 1982 when he joined the Yixing Zisha Pottery Factory. There, he studied pottery shaping under Gu Shaopei, a renowned Chinese craft master. In 1988, he attended a formative design training program at the Central Academy of Arts and Design, which greatly enriched his creative practice.

From 1991 to 1993, he served as an instructor at the Yixing Zisha Pottery Factory Training Center, dedicating himself to nurturing the next generation of artists. Throughout his career, Zhuang has pursued artistic innovation with rigorous craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail.

Among his notable works, the Hexagonal Openwork Teapot is part of the permanent collection of the Zhongnanhai Purple Light Pavilion in Beijing. Hexagonal Awakening received the First Prize from the Jiangsu Arts and Crafts Industry Association, while Jade Spring Square Bamboo was awarded the Gold Prize by the China Light Industry Council.
