Born in 1957 in Dingshu Town, Yixing, Jiangsu, Wu Ming studied ceramic arts at Jiangsu Ceramic School in 1977 and graduated from Wuxi Light Industry University with a major in art and design in 1986. Over his distinguished career, he has published hundreds of artworks and dozens of academic papers. His works have earned over twenty provincial and national awards and have been selected three times for the International Ceramics Exhibition Mino, Japan, where he received the Judges’ Special Award.

Wu Ming has been invited to hold exhibitions, deliver lectures, and publish personal art collections abroad on multiple occasions. His works are collected by prestigious institutions such as the National Art Museum of China, the National Museum of China, the Ministry of Culture, Ziguangge (China’s State Guesthouse), the University of Hawaii, and the Hawaii Cultural Foundation.

A multidisciplinary artist skilled in poetry, calligraphy, and painting, Wu Ming pioneered comprehensive research and innovation in modern Zisha art. His creations blend tradition, reinterpret modernity, and contemplate the future, forming a distinctive style that has significantly influenced contemporary Zisha art. He is celebrated as a trailblazer of modern Zisha ceramics and the founder of a new artistic movement.
