Born in 1956 in Yixing, Jiangsu, Sun Bochun (孙伯春) graduated from the Fine Arts program of Jiangsu Pottery School and later from the Ceramic Design Department of the Central Academy of Crafts and Arts. He is currently engaged in the design and creation of purple sand ceramic sculpture and teapot art at the National Purple Sand Ceramics Key Talent Training Base in China.

With over 45 years of dedication to ceramic sculpture and purple sandware design, Sun has developed a distinctive traditional style and refined craftsmanship, supported by a solid foundation in artistic fundamentals.

His works have received more than twenty major awards at national ceramic competitions, China Traditional Arts and Crafts Fine Art Exhibitions, and Jiangsu Provincial Ceramic Art contests. He has also published the monograph Basics of Clay Sculpture and twelve academic papers.
