Born in 1964 in Yixing, the "Ceramic Capital" of Jiangsu Province. In 1980, he joined the Research Institute of Jiangsu Yixing Painted Pottery Craft Factory, where he has worked ever since, studying painted pottery techniques under the guidance of Chinese Ceramic Art Master Qiu Yulin. In 1983, he pursued further studies at Jiangsu Ceramic Industrial School, and in 1988, he attended the Central Academy of Arts and Crafts (now part of Tsinghua University), where he received careful guidance from the academy's faculty.

Throughout his career, Shen Jianjun has remained unwavering in his pursuit of innovative design and theoretical knowledge. He has developed a distinctive style in the form and decoration of painted pottery. Through long-term practice, he continuously refines his innovative design concepts, respecting traditional art while emphasizing contemporary innovation.

His works, including Fan Dance Vase, Colorful Ball Vase, Sturdy Grass Vase, Phoenix, and Han Dragon Vase, have won gold, silver, and bronze awards in the 5th, 6th, 9th, and 10th National Ceramic Art Innovation Competitions. In 2014, his painted pottery work Welcoming Spring was acquired into the collection of the Capital Museum.
