Qian Wusheng holds the titles of Professorate Senior Craft Artist, Professorate Senior Technician of Rural Revitalization, and Master of Traditional Crafts. He is a member of the China Ceramic Industry Association and the Jiangsu Arts and Crafts Society.
Born into a family with a deep heritage in purple clay (zisha) art, he was assigned to the Yixing Purple Clay Factory after graduating from middle school. There, he joined the apprentice class led by Master Ni Shunsheng, a distinguished Arts and Crafts Master of Jiangsu Province, where he built a solid foundation in the craft. Upon completing that training, he continued his studies under his aunt, the renowned Master Jiang Rong, inheriting the Jiang school of purple clay techniques and creative philosophy. Under Master Jiang’s meticulous guidance, his skills matured and broadened considerably.

Qian Wusheng is proficient in making plain polished wares (guanghuo), natural-form floral wares (huahuo), and scholarly desk ornaments. His plain purple clay pieces are noted for their understated elegance and grandeur, while his floral pieces are fresh and lively, combining aesthetic appeal with practical use. His works have been featured in numerous national fine arts and crafts exhibitions, receiving multiple awards. Many of his creations are now held in private collections and museums both in China and abroad.
