This high quality piece was fully handmade by teapot artist xie duo lian 谢多莲 with yixing zisha aged lao duan ni clay.
This duanni come from Huang long mine 4, Ding shu town, Yixing city. 100% Natural Ore. 100% Genuine Yixing Duanni clay.
This is a close-up photo of the teapot's surface, and we can clearly see the particles of aged lao duanni clay, as well as mica, quartz, and iron content.
This duanni clay has a loose, porous texture, which helps enhance the tea's returning sweetness (hui gan) 回甘.
Unlike thinner Zhuni teapots, this aged lao duan ni Gong Chun isn't about chasing a strong fragrance. It's all about the mouthfeel, smoothness, layered richness and returning sweetness (hui gan) 回甘 .
Looking down at the lid, you can see a knob shaped like a lingzhi mushroom.
With masterful skill, Artist Xie has brought this lingzhi‑shaped knob to life, making it appear as though it has just sprouted fresh from the wood.

This is a beautifully crafted teapot. It is super light and thin walled, yet stable and secure. It is the only luni teapot I own and the only half handmade luni pot that I have ever seen and, as such, is available at an incredible price. The clay crystals have an amazing look to them. The design and size at 90ml is perfect for solo gonfu and the pour is just right. If your passion is collecting and using special zisha clay pots, this one really can't be passed up.

The craftsmanship is impeimpeccable (thin walls, tight lid fit, superb water flow, high pitch "cling" sound,. . ) and the clay quality is amazing!
I use it for floral oolongs(dancong, wuyi, bāozhòng, tie guan yin) floral black teas (Keemun, usmoked lapsang), but also for more floral and fruity Sheng Pu Erhs (Gua Feng Zhai, Yiwu, Jingmai, Bangdong,. . ) and it brews all of them to perfection (aroma & mouth feel).
