Born in 1967 in Shushan, Yixing, Jiangsu Province, Wu Shufeng began studying under Mr. Wu Qunxiang in 1987. He graduated from the Ceramic Art Department of the Central Academy of Arts and Crafts (now the Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University). Currently, he works at Fangyuan Zisha Crafts Co., Ltd., engaging in the creation and research of Zisha (purple clay) culture.
After years of deep immersion in Zisha pottery, his understanding and perception have matured, and his teapot-making skills have become increasingly refined. His designs are innovative, his craftsmanship exquisite, his lines smooth, and his proportions harmonious. His works achieve a unity of beauty in craftsmanship, material, and form.
His pieces have been selected for the 1st and 2nd National Ceramic Design Exhibitions and have won numerous awards. They are included in the collections of the Wuxi Museum, the Academy of Arts & Design of Tsinghua University, and the Guangdong Museum.
