Biography
Born in 1965, Chen Fuqiang was admitted to the Yixing Pottery School in 1982.
He later pursued further education at Zhengzhou University, Sichuan Agricultural University, and Nanjing University of the Arts, earning a Bachelor's degree.
In 1994, he was dispatched by the government to Japan for a one-year advanced study in ceramic arts.
He has long received guidance and influence from Professor Zhang Fuchang, a renowned authority in China's industrial design field.
Since 1986, he has been engaged in the innovative design of ceramic art products.
He has achieved fruitful results in the research of ceramic materials, form design, and decoration.
His purple clay teaware and ceramic artworks have earned over one hundred national design patents and utility model patents.
He has received dozens of national and provincial-level arts and crafts awards.
He has been honored with titles including Jiangsu Provincial Master of Arts and Crafts, Municipal Science and Technology Achievement Award, and Municipal New Long March Pace-Setter.
In 2013, he was promoted to Senior-Level Craft Artist (Zheng Gao).
He has been appointed as a Visiting Professor and Industry Professor by several higher education institutions.
He concurrently serves as Director of the Jiangsu Industrial Design Society,
Vice Chairman of the Yixing Ceramic Society,
and a member of the Ceramic Art Professional Committee of the Jiangsu Arts and Crafts Society.
