Born in 1957 in Dingshu Town, Yixing, Jiangsu, Hu Yongcheng （胡永成）began his apprenticeship in 1976 at the Yixing Zisha Pottery Factory under the guidance of senior craft artist Li Bifang. In 1978, he started mentoring junior apprentices. He further enriched his expertise by attending the National Ceramic Design Training Program in Jingdezhen, Jiangxi, in 1984, and completed a modeling design course at the Central Academy of Arts & Design in 1989.
Notable Works:
• "Ancient & Modern Ding Pot" (a ceremonial vessel-inspired teapot)
• "Chrysanthemum Bud Teapot."
