Chu Jiquan

Born in 1954 into a prestigious scholarly family in Yixing, Chu Jiquan began studying Zisha art in 1972. He furthered his education twice (1983 and 1989) in the Ceramic Design program at the Central Academy of Craft Art. In 1994, he was appointed Director of the Zisha Art Research Institute at the China Yixing Ceramic Museum.

In 2000, he represented Chinese ceramic and Zisha art at the International Ceramic Culture Exchange in South Korea. He has held multiple solo exhibitions abroad, with many works collected by museums and institutions worldwide. His achievements and biography are featured in Yixing’s primary and secondary school ceramic art textbooks, earning him the title "A Figure of the Post-Mansheng Era."

His works have been exhibited globally, winning numerous awards, including the China Arts and Crafts "Hundred Flowers Award" Gold Prize.
