The Flat Duoqiu Teapot is a variation of the classic Yixing stoneware form known as the Duoqiu ("Stacked Balls") teapot. It is also referred to as the Half-Duoqiu Teapot or simply the Flat Duo.

In contrast to the full, spherical body of the standard Duoqiu, the Flat Duoqiu features a compressed profile—either a flattened sphere or a hemispherical form. Component Proportions
The lid and knob continue the spherical or domed vocabulary of the Duoqiu lineage, though the lid's curvature is noticeably flatter, creating a more seamless integration with the body. The spout is typically short and subtly curved; the handle forms a smooth arc; and the piece rests on a neatly defined foot ring. The overall composition is fluid and meticulously balanced.
Aesthetic Temperament
While honoring the geometric clarity of the classic "three-sphere" composition—where body, lid, and knob suggest stacked globes—the flattened form introduces an air of archaism and unadorned solidity.
