Fully handmade from aged lao zhuni clay using time-honored techniques, this teapot carries a cheerful color that grows even richer with use. Its rounded body and balanced spout and handle combine strength and softness, creating a poetic charm.
Its smooth curves and natural lines give it a harmonious, graceful form, neither stiff nor artificial. Its full, well-proportioned shape is timeless and pleasing to the eye.
The fine, tender clay has a subtle sheen, radiating a simple, elegant luster.

This Lao Zhu Ni (Old Cinnabar Clay) ore was mined in 1990 from the No. 4 Well Mining Area of Huanglong Mountain in Dingshu Town, Yixing City. Over the next four years, it was processed into clay by Siyutao Clay Workshop.
Material Selection: High-quality Lao Zhu Ni ore chunks were handpicked.
Weathering: The ore was naturally weathered in an open-air stockyard for three years.
Second Selection: The finest pieces were manually selected again from the high-quality ore.
Crushing: The Lao Zhu Ni ore was ground into powder using a stone mill.
After numerous meticulous steps, the clay blocks were formed. Throughout this process, SIYUTAO insisted on using traditional manual methods rather than machinery and added only water—no chemical additives—to achieve the highest quality clay.
In 1994, the clay blocks were stored in a cellar for moisture retention and aging. It wasn’t until 2024 that the clay was finally retrieved. Through the passage of time, SIYUTAO has obtained the finest, highest-grade clay. Its color is naturally subdued yet rich in minerals, presenting a pure, persimmon-like red hue.

I've owned several Yixing in the same price range, and this by far is the best one. The craftsmanship is incredible - the shape is stunning, the lid fit is absolutely perfect (no drips even when pushed hard), the small ball filter results in an even pour every single time and the hole in the lid is a bit wider than average so it doesn't get clogged with water. The quality of the clay is first-rate. Also, shipping to the EU went through a proxy so I didn't have to pay import fees. All in all, I'm extremely happy with this purchase!

Simply stated, I love this teapot. it is an exquisite piece which adds to the mystique, mystery and romance of any tea that I may be drinking, (mostly Sheng related Puerh)...a magical little pot.

This is a beautifully crafted teapot. It is super light and thin walled, yet stable and secure. It is the only luni teapot I own and the only half handmade luni pot that I have ever seen and, as such, is available at an incredible price. The clay crystals have an amazing look to them. The design and size at 90ml is perfect for solo gonfu and the pour is just right. If your passion is collecting and using special zisha clay pots, this one really can't be passed up.

The craftsmanship is impeimpeccable (thin walls, tight lid fit, superb water flow, high pitch "cling" sound,. . ) and the clay quality is amazing!
I use it for floral oolongs(dancong, wuyi, bāozhòng, tie guan yin) floral black teas (Keemun, usmoked lapsang), but also for more floral and fruity Sheng Pu Erhs (Gua Feng Zhai, Yiwu, Jingmai, Bangdong,. . ) and it brews all of them to perfection (aroma & mouth feel).
