Born in November 1945 in Yixing, Jiangsu, Zhou Zunyan entered the Zisha Ceramic Middle School in 1958 and joined the Research Office of Yixing Zisha Craft Factory in 1959, where he studied under the renowned masters Gu Jingzhou and Pei Shimin, greatly benefiting from their guidance. In 1983, he completed the "Zisha Modeling and Drafting Course" at the Central Academy of Craft Arts (now the Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University).
Over a career spanning more than fifty years, his works have been exhibited both domestically and internationally and have received numerous awards. In 1993, he visited Hong Kong for technical exchanges. In 1995, he was invited to Malaysia to participate in the "China Yixing Zisha Ceramic Masters’ Works Exhibition." In 2011, he was invited to South Korea for field research and ceramic art exchanges. In 2012, he traveled to the United States for study and artistic exchange.
