More about siyutao Teapots
1. Origin & Traditional Clay Refining Siyutao is located in the town center of Dingshu Town, Yixing. All Siyutao teapots are made from pure, locally sourced, high-quality Yixing raw purple clay ore. The raw ore is hand-sorted, then processed with only water using traditional clay-refining techniques to ensure the absolute purity of the material.
2. Faint Natural Mineral Scent Every teapot from Siyutao is a genuine Yixing raw-ore purple clay teapot. When you rinse the teapot with hot water, the only scent you will notice is a very faint, natural mineral aroma reminiscent of soil after rain—sometimes almost entirely odorless.
3. No Added Pigments, Naturally Fired Hues Siyutao pursues the natural beauty of purple clay minerals. None of the Yixing clays used contain any added pigments. The colors are entirely the natural result of turning raw ores into clay and firing them at high temperatures; the subtle gradations of natural hues and earthy texture are impossible to replicate with artificial pigments.
4. Traditional Firing & Matte Sandy Texture Siyutao purple clay teapots are fired using traditional kiln techniques, must no waxing, and are healthy and natural. When you quickly rub your fingers across the surface of a Siyutao teapot, you will feel a slightly raspy, sandy friction. Viewed under sunlight, the surface has a soft, diffuse matte luster.
5. Symbiotic Minerals & Natural Grain When Siyutao’s workshop grinds the purple clay ore, many naturally occurring symbiotic minerals are preserved. This natural granular texture is also one of the distinctive characteristics of Siyutao purple clay teapots.
6. Ergonomic Flow & Individual Testing Siyutao carefully inspects every teapot for you in advance, ensuring that it is functional and ergonomically sound. Each teapot is individually tested; only those with outstanding performance are presented. When you fill the teapot with boiling water and try pouring the tea, you will find that our teapots are designed with mechanical balance in mind. The center point of the handle, the center of gravity of the body, and the line of force during pouring are all aligned. A gentle press with your fingertip is all that is needed to pour, with no sense of heavy strain on your wrist at all.
