Description
The name of this teapot is "Ao Xue, 傲雪" which carries the semantic meaning derived from the ancient Chinese idiom "Ao Xue Ling Shuang"傲雪凌霜 , a phrase that describes pines and cedars standing defiantly against bitter cold, proudly erect amid frost and snow. Master artist Zhu Zhihao 朱志豪 drew upon this theme to create this exquisite teapot artwork. The teapot is based on the form of a pine stump, personifying a pine tree that stands unyieldingly on a cliff in the midst of wind and snow. Its imagery is spirited and dynamic, while its lines are vigorous and forceful.
This work by Zhu Zhihao holds significant collectible value, not only for its unique artistic merit but also for the intrinsic investment potential of the master artist himself. Zhu Zhihao 朱志豪
a Prodigy of Floral-Shaped Ware in the Zisha World
Born in 1975 in Dingshu Town, Yixing , Zhu Zhihao was immersed in the art of purple clay teapot making from an early age and possesses extraordinary artistic intuition.
After graduating in 1995, he began his career in zisha teapot crafting,
consistently engaging in thoughtful reflection and bold experimentation. He excels in creating a wide variety of zisha forms, with a particular focus on flower-and-plant sculptural ware (huasuqi). His works are distinguished by vivid, expressive styles that embody the principle of "originating from nature yet transcending nature."
They not only employ a measured degree of artistic exaggeration but also emphasize an effortless, graceful flair. Moreover, Zhu pays great attention to utilizing the natural colors of zisha clay to enhance the artistic effect,
thereby presenting the aesthetic value of form and shape.
Siyutao pick the best
Siyutao holds the right of first refusal over Zhu Zhihao's works. Whenever Zhu Zhihao completes a piece, Siyutao has the first pick. Only after Siyutao selects the finest, flawlessly perfect pieces are the remaining ones made available to other dealers. Siyutao only takes the very best. The condition of a zisha artwork has a significant impact on its value appreciation, the price difference between a piece in pristine condition and one of slightly inferior quality can be as much as four to five times.
The condition also greatly affects later value appreciation, those in the finest condition increase in value more quickly and hold greater worth.

Master teapot artist Zhu Zhihao confirms and declares that Siyutao has the right of first refusal on his works.

Siyutao has obtained certification under China's National Geographical Indication system and has been officially authorized by the government to use the Yixing zisha 宜兴紫砂 geographical indication. Out of the tens of thousands of teaware merchants in Yixing, only three have been granted this distinction to date, and Siyutao is among them. (Click here to find out more about geographical indications.) This serves as solid proof that the zisha teaware sold by Siyutao is genuine Yixing ware.
