Born in 1940, he joined the Shushan Pottery Production Cooperative (the predecessor of Yixing Zisha Artware Factory) in 1956. In 1958, he became a disciple of the renowned master Gu Jingzhou, receiving personal guidance and thorough instruction, through which he deeply inherited his mentor’s expertise. Over more than fifty years dedicated to the craft, he has consistently built upon traditional foundations, committed to the relentless pursuit of balancing inheritance and innovation. He has developed a distinctive, insightful understanding of the essence of Yixing Zisha, achieving refined skill and increasingly harmonious artistry.

His works have been widely acclaimed by various sectors of society. Eleven of his pieces have been granted design patents by the China National Intellectual Property Administration, and over twenty works have won major awards in national and international exhibitions.

In 1987, his magnetic therapy Zisha tea set was awarded the Third Prize for Scientific and Technological Achievement in Jiangsu Province. Ten of his works have been included in the permanent collections of institutions, including the Chinese National Arts & Crafts Museum, Ziguang Pavilion of Zhongnanhai, Capital Museum, Anhui Provincial Museum, and Tianjin Museum.
