Graduated in June 1986 from the Ceramic Art Department of Yixing Ceramic Industry School (now Wuxi Institute of Arts and Technology), studying under Mr. Zhang Zhi’an, an educator in Chinese ceramic art, and Mr. Chen Jianping, a Chinese Ceramic Art Master. From 1991 to 1992, he furthered his studies at the Central Academy of Arts and Crafts (now the Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University). His works have won over 40 awards at international, national, provincial, and municipal levels. He holds four national intellectual property patents. A number of his pieces and sets have been collected by cultural institutions at national, provincial, and municipal levels, as well as by international and domestic collectors. He has published multiple papers. His monograph Soul of Clay, Rhyme of Pottery was published by Nanjing University Press in 2015.
