Lao Zini （aged zi ni）
The term "aged" (老) refers to old-block purple clay ore with a high sand content. This type of ore contains a high proportion of quartz particles. When processed into clay and used for teapot making, it is difficult to shape and requires a high firing temperature.
With a long aging (chenfu) 陈腐 period, aged clay (老泥) offers relatively high plasticity during shaping. After firing, the finished piece exhibits a relatively warm and mellow luster. Even after a short period of tea nurturing, it develops a fine patina.

2. Faint Natural Mineral Scent Every teapot from Siyutao is a genuine Yixing raw-ore purple clay teapot. When you rinse the teapot with hot water, the only scent you will notice is a very faint, natural mineral aroma reminiscent of soil after rain—sometimes almost entirely odorless.

4. Traditional Firing & Matte Sandy Texture Siyutao purple clay teapots are fired using traditional kiln techniques, must no waxing, and are healthy and natural.
