Zhao Mingmin (赵明敏) was born in 1959 in Shushan South Street, Dingshu Town, Yixing City, Jiangsu Province. In 1979, she succeeded her mother by joining the Jiangsu Yixing Purple Sand Craft Factory, where she studied traditional teapot making and shaping techniques under Jiangsu Provincial Ceramic Art Masters Jiang Yan and Wu Qunxiang, as well as China National Master of Arts and Crafts He Daohong. In 2012, she enrolled in the first Advanced Studies Program in Purple Sand at the Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University, receiving guidance from professors including Yang Yongshan, Zhang Shouzhi, Zheng Ning, Bai Ming, Zhang Xing, and Wang Hui in form design and theoretical studies. With nearly forty years of experience, she has continuously expanded her knowledge and integrated tradition into her work, creating nearly a hundred new pieces and developing significant capabilities in creative innovation and form design. Zhao Mingmin's works embody a rich traditional Chinese cultural spirit, characterized by refined forms, classic elegance, and exquisite craftsmanship.

Her works have won dozens of awards, including Gold Prizes at the China National Arts and Crafts Master Fine Works Exposition, the Milan World Expo, the Arts and Crafts Huabiao Awards, the Yibo Cup, the China International Tea Industry Expo, the International Ceramic Culture and Art Festival, and the International Tea Vessel Design Competition. She has also received awards at four consecutive sessions of the National Ceramic Art Design and Innovation Exhibition, held every four years. In 2007, she was honored with the title "Purple Sand Art Master Beloved by Chinese Collectors" by the China Collectors Association.
