Wang Yaping

Wang Yaping, also known by his pen names "Yaping" and "Haizhu," was born in 1952 in Jintan, Jiangsu. In 1976, he graduated from Jiangsu Yixing Ceramic Industrial School and has since dedicated over four decades to the creation and research of Zisha (purple clay) art. His works stand out in China's arts and crafts and ceramic art circles, blending harmony with uniqueness, earning widespread recognition and acclaim in the industry.

He has won gold, silver, and bronze awards in national art competitions more than thirty times. His works were selected for two consecutive editions of the National Fine Arts Exhibition (10th and 11th). In the 1990s, he created the "New Cuàn Style" calligraphy, which received the highest national award and was adopted as an official new font by the government.

Additionally, he has published multiple academic papers in leading national journals, and many of his works have been collected by museums and art galleries both in China and abroad.
